November 2016
Dear Friends,
Our summer tour passed so quickly and we have been enjoying a phenomenal fall!
We are busy preparing for our Christmas Show dates which are just around the
corner! We have presented Branson Style Christmas Shows for nearly 35 years and it
is an event we always look forward to! Through the years we have performed
hundreds of Christmas and Holiday selections, written many of our own, and charted
with a hit Christmas song in 1985 "Santa Got A D.W.I." This year we feel we have put
together a special show with many of our favorite selections. We hope you will find
time in your busy Holiday schedule to join us for one of these events!

Today's technology allows us to share so much with so many. Live streaming of video on social media sites is an
everyday occurence. We load video to web sites like You Tube where we can store it indefinitely allowing others
to watch our segments just like television. We are thankful these kinds of media sources exist. What a fantastic
promotional tool they are!

Sherwin's Presidential Campaign Raises Money for the South Dakota State Fair Foundation
A big "Thank You" to our friends and fans who supported Sherwin in his 2016 Presidential Campaign to
raise funds for the completion of the new "Nordby Exhibit Hall." This wonderful facility located on the South
Dakota State Fair Grounds will be the home for South Dakota Youth 4-H activities for many years to come
and has been completely funded with private donations.
Through the sale of bumper stickers and buttons which had the clever and timely slogan,
You Do Have A Choice - Sherwin Linton For President
Sherwin will be making a contribution of $1400.00 to offset the remaining debt for this 4.7 million
dollar project. Thank You, Constituents!
Shop The Cotton Patch For Your Favorite Sherwin Linton Recordings & Concert Souveniers
Those who visit our web sites on a regular basis have been noticing some important changes. We want to thank
Lonnie Knight Productions
for the dedicated work in redesigning both of our web sites so they now set up
comfortably on hand held devices! Sherwin's first web site, built by Jimmy Roberts, went live back in 1990.
Since then we have experienced many technological changes and improvements. Today, many of us carry a
smart phone in our pocket and access the internet from nearly any location! We are excited that our sites are
now compatible with today's technology.
In addition, Lonnie has built a shopping cart which we have affectionately called "The Cotton Patch Boutique."
Included there are all of Sherwin & Pam's recordings , DVD's, concert shirts and a host of other items with more to
come. We hope you'll remember to visit our "Cotton Patch" for some of your gift giving needs!
Summer Fun 2016
Here we are into August and as always it seems summer passes by to quickly. We have enjoyed many
special events already and we are looking forward to August and September.
This year, Pam and I opted not to book our show over the July 4th holiday. We drove Pam's beautiful 78
Cadillac Eldorado Biaritz to my hometown, Watertown, SD. On the morning of July 4th we entered the parade at
Kranzburg, SD, a town of 200 people, just east of Watertown. Small town but a big parade with a long history
and 10,000 people in attendance. Believe me they do party in Kranzburg!
We then entered the afternoon parade in Watertown and were awarded "First Place" in the antique car
division. We didn't even realize our "78 Caddy" was an antique, but it is nearly 40 years old!
We had a nice drive back home in that car that is so comfortable and just floats down the road like a big boat!

Fairs, Awards and A Big Announcement on July 31st
We have had a wonderful time at several fairs and events in July including our annual show at the beautiful
Lake Harriet Band Shell on July 25th. Sunday, July 31st we celebrated our 30th year in a row at the Anoka
County Fair. I had placed several items for entry into the "Open Class Exhibits" and won two "Grand
Champion Purple Ribbons," a Blue Ribbon and a Red Ribbon.
The most unusual item I entered is a 1981 desk doodle on a desk pad. I used to doodle on a desk pad as I
would talk on the phone and contemplate my next move or date to book. One of those survived. I framed it and
entered it in the Art Division. I could not believe it when I saw a "Grand Champion Purple Ribbon" attached to it!

Sunday, July 31st at 4:30 PM I also officially announced my candidacy for President
.
Of course I will not be on the ballot, but we do have a very successful campaign under way. We are working very
hard to raise money for the 4-H kids in my home state of South Dakota. All proceeds from the sale of bumper
stickers and buttons will go to the South Dakota State Fair Foundation to help to pay a portion of the the remaining
costs of the 4 million dollar "Nordby Exhibit Hall" which will house the 4-H program and activities on the South
Dakota State Fair Grounds. This is a newly built complex which is ready for the 2016 South Dakota State Fair!
Bumper Stickers and Buttons are just $5.00 each and they read:
You Do Have A Choice
Sherwin Linton For President
They also caption my basic platform "STOP CHILD ABUSE." I believe we need to do everything we
can to protect our greatest resource, our children.
If you wish to order a Bumper Sticker or Button simply send $5.00 per item cash, check or money order to:

60 Years on the Road — Look at August and September
It is true that after 60 years I am not slowing down. We will really be on the roll in August and September. Just
look at our schedule! Our V10 Truck and 16' trailer are sitting in the driveway just waiting to take us down the
road. People often ask me how many miles I've traveled and driven. I have not kept track but it is in the
millions of miles. Everything has not always gome smooth for sure with countless breakdowns in cars, trucks,
buses, vans and trailers, but in 60 years I have never missed a show. I've been on stage with my arms in a
cast, rib wraps, following vocal surgeries when I had to be silent and other complications and difficulties.
We've driven through tornadoes, floods, blizzards and every other kind of inclement weather but somehow we
always made it to be on stage wherever and whenever we needed to be. Fortunately, I am not a smoker and
never have had any kind of chemical dependency problem. The Lord has truly blessed me with a long career
doing what I love, playing music. I have to give a lot of credit to my wife Pam for all her help, advice and
support as we celebrate 28 years of marriage on August 15th. Pam first sang with our show in 1980, 36 years
ago. She is a great talent with an unending supply of creative energy!
Happy Anniversary Pam!
We hope to see many of you at our coming shows! Thanks for your continued friendship!
Long Live American Music!

May 2016
Dear Friends,
We so often hear and say "Where did the time
go?" That line applies so many times throughout
our lives. I now look back to the time when I
started my first band "The Rocketeers" while still
in high school in Watertown, SD in 1956. Now in
2016 I can truly say "Where did the time go!"
Through the years we have had special 10th and
25th Anniversary Parties, a big 50th Anniversary
celebration at the Medina Ballroom in 2006 and
now we look forward to our upcoming 60th
Anniversary in Entertainment Show in the
"Fireside Room" at the Chanhassen Dinner
Theatre in Chanhassen, MN.
In 60 years I have worked with and employed hundreds of musicians. I can honestly say with pride that I tried to
hire band members who I felt were better musicians then I. We have a terrific band of "Cotton Kings." My wife
Pam has been with my show for 36 years, since 1980 when she and her sister Patti, aka Brittany joined me while
they were still in their teens. Pam and I were married August 15, 1988. Our fans enjoy our bassist Pete Brooks
energetic vocals and excellent string bass work. Pete joined us in the late 1990's. Kenny Wilson has been touring
with us for six years playing steel guitar, electric guitar, banjo, dobro and acoustic guitar and he often is our sound
engineer. He is busy!! Ken Anderson was our drummer in the 1990's and we are happy he is back with us again.
Pastor Norton Lawellin has played keyboards on many of
our CD's and will be with our band at the Chanhassen. As
you can see, we have a great group of "Cotton Kings."
For our 60th Anniversary Show I plan to do a variety of
songs and highlight some favorites Did you know that I
recorded "The Crystal Chandelier" ten years before
Charlie Pride? That "Cotton King" was recorded in 1966
and was a hit in 1967. That I was given the song "Gentle
On My Mind" at that same session but did not record it
because I didn't think I could sing it well enough. That I
toured doing shows with everyone from Roy Acuff and Tex
Ritter to Lefty Frizzell, Waylon Jennings, Kitty Wells,
Johnny Cash and just about every other Classic Country
star plus Rock and Rollers like Buddy Knox, Gene
Vincent, The Crickets, Tommy Roe and Bobby Vee. That I
have never missed a show in 60 years! Well, I sure don't
want to miss this one and I hope many of you will want to
be there also!

I thank each of my fans and friends for their constant support.
You have all been an instrumental part of my "60 Year Career!"
